About

Thomas Law PLLC was founded by Naveen Thomas to provide cost-effective legal services to entrepreneurs and small businesses in all industries, with a focus on technology, media, fashion, and the arts.
Before starting the firm, Naveen worked at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York, London, and Paris, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and securities.
Since 2012, he has taught full-time at the University of Chicago Law School and the New York University School of Law, where he directs the Business Transactions Clinic. At each of these schools, he has trained and supervised law students as they provide free legal services to established corporations, startup companies, and nonprofit organizations. He has also developed and taught discrete courses in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating business contracts.
In addition, Naveen has taught US law to law students in India and lawyers from China, and has trained US law firm associates in transactional legal skills, such as contract drafting, legal writing, client interviewing and counseling, and negotiation.
Naveen has received a BA in Philosophy and Economics from New York University, a JD from Columbia Law School, and a Master of Global Business Law from Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Sciences Po Paris. He speaks English, French, and Spanish and is conversational in Portuguese.
He is licensed as an attorney only in New York.
